Augusta, Maine, August 3, 2026 — On Saturday, August 22, members of the Maine Winery Guild will welcome the public to their wineries, cideries and meaderies throughout Maine to celebrate the 2026 Maine Open Winery Day. It’s an opportunity for Maine’s wine, cider and mead makers to showcase the variety of products they produce and for visitors to experience the expanding Maine wine scene and get a behind-the-scene look at what goes into making Maine’s wines, ciders and meads.
Members will be offering a variety of events open to the public including tastings, live music, food trucks, tours etc. Go to www.mainewinetrail.com for an online map and printable handout to plan your day and experience the variety of wines, ciders and meads Guild members produce from traditional and not-so-traditional products. Individual members will be posting their specific event information through Facebook and email.
Come sample Maine grown and produced wine, cider and mead. The Maine Winery Guild is organized to advance the prosperity of the Maine wine industries, the farms that support them, and the communities they serve.
Run Amok Mead will be open from 12-7 on Open Winery Day – that’s Saturday, August 22nd, offering guided tastings of our 30+ mead varieties, as well as flights of three, and single glass pours. Pair these options with some Maine-made cheese, take the nickel tour of our tiny fermentation facility, and you are certain to have a fun experience. Come on out to our 1858 Former-Summer-Kitchen-tasting room and let us put some mead in your mouth! 21+ only. We are located at 1043 High Street in West Gardiner, Maine.
Bonaventura Vineyards tasting room at 355 Berry Rd, Hartford, ME 04220 will be open from 12-6 on Open Winery Day, Saturday, August 22nd. Stoney Acres (local handcrafted goat cheeses, sourdough, honey) and Sweet Creations by Karen (homemade cookie designer) will be set up inside the tasting room. Novella Books, a mobile romance bookstore will be on the grounds from 12-5 and Ma’s Comfort Food, a baked potato food truck will be serving from 1:30-6. A short tour of the winery will be available at 4:00 (meet in the barn) for those interested. Also our local pond association will be on hand to answer questions about the association and sign up new members.
WillowsAwake Winery will be welcoming visitors to their vineyard, winery and No.10 Eatery on Open Winery Day, Saturday August 22nd. We will be serving a pub style menu in the Garden with a full bar available at our Garden Shed Bar. Winery tours will be offered at 12:30 and 2 pm, a self guided vineyard walking tour where you can stroll at your own pace and observe ripening grapes up close, lawn games and from Noon to 4 pm enjoy the Shelly Coombs Band at the Garden stage.
